Campaign Workshop is up!


The last piece of the game, the Campaign Workshop, is finally up!

Yes, this is the last element of Stygian Citadel. I may have mentioned before how I was thinking about a further document with advanced rules, but after a bit of reflection, I've come to the conclusion that, if you're looking for in-depth rules or a robust character progression system, Stygian Citadel is probably not the game for you. Better to lean into the core concept of this game, which is a fast-paced, rules-light game, laser-focused into classic Sword & Sorcery tales of bravery against wicked supernatural threats. Also part of the concept is a focus on random generation that makes it especially suitable for solo or co-op play (although GM-led play is still supported), which is why I'm not doing any worldbuilding either - this Campaign Workshop should be all I'm putting out in terms of campaign setting.

Does this mean the project is done for good? Of course not. The next step is polishing the material that's already out there, playtesting it a bit more, working out the kinks, and eventually posting revised versions of all four documents. Then, once that's done, it's on to a single-document omnibus, and then... who knows?
