Rekindle
Embersoul Castle is the last bastion of Light in the Shadow Marches. However, it has been abandoned for too long, and the cold and dark have been allowed to take over. Can you bring warmth and life back to this old castle? Face monstrous enemies while you fight to keep the flames alive amid the encroaching cold, and bring the Shining One's blessing back into the land!

Mouse / Touch Controls
Menus / Messages: Click to select, confirm, or progress text. Right-click (or two-finger touch) to go back to the previous menu, if available.
Walking around: Click a space to walk towards it; click anything to interact with it. Right-click (or two-finger touch) brings up the game menu.
Keyboard Controls
OK Button: Enter, Spacebar or Z
Back Button: Esc or X

Walking around: Use arrow keys to walk around. Hold down Shift to dash. Press OK to interact with anything in front of your character. Back brings up the game menu.
Game Tips
As with most RPGs, take care to avoid running out of HP, or your character will die. Try exploring the map thoroughly and interacting with anything on it in order to find useful items. Save early and often (through the game menu).
Temperature is the most important thing in this game; getting too cold will make you worse at fighting (due to stiff limbs), and even inflict damage from frostbite. Use the Talisman often to check your temperature. Use the fires, warm clothes, or other resources like Brandy to fight the cold.
Speaking of which, most fires (except for lanterns) tend to go out after a while, although the quality of the fuel may affect that. However, you only have to fuel each fire once. Keep an eye out for them, and relight them when necessary!
Pay attention to the strengths and weaknesses of your characters, of their equipment, and of the monsters you find. Your spells and abilities are there for a reason! The Bestiary you can find in the cabin might help.
And, most of all, don't lose faith... it may seem hopeless at first, but you can make it. Embersoul Castle is depending on you!

The gameplay in this game feels fresh to me. I really enjoyed the Kindle mechanics and the dynamic temperature changes. It adds a unique layer of strategy. At first, I thought only the host would pressure participants with time, but suddenly I found myself racing against it too. 🤣
The mapping is well done and practical. The items you get through foraging feel meaningful. You used the time limit cleverly, especially by adding descriptions to each item and character. It makes everything feel more alive.
It can be challenging to move around with monsters constantly chasing you, but it’s manageable, and honestly, that’s where the fun comes in.
Overall, it’s a warm game that truly lights the flames of hope for the inhabitants of Embersoul Castle. 🔥

One thing I was worried about was players not realizing the characters were getting too cold and that that has negative consequences, since there's no visual indication of any sort (not without plugins anyway), but I'm glad it did come across after all.
